pretty good
i go with amd, but you've chosen a good processor. from what i know about ram, there is only a small performance improvement for increasing price. there are lots of good quality 2gb kits out now for very cheap prices--save yourself $100 here. ditto comment on power supply. lots of good 650 watt ones in $100 range, if you're set on a larger unit. i like my samsung 22" monitor for roughly the same price, and i've had terrible luck with lite-on, but those are personal preferences. i will say there are a lot of better rated burners for the same price. have fun!

Ooops
I just realized you had a QUAD 6600, not a dual. Doy. I actually still think that the E8400 would be better for gaming, though; there are very few, if any, games that utilize more than 2 cores. But if you still like a quad-core better, I can't blame you ;)

just a few things
id go for top of the line duel instead of bottom of the line quad plus the technology isnt there yet for the quads look at the 45nm intel duo and antec among others have some card readers on them. that lighton model is kinda loud id go with an asus or lol phillips make sure its retail youll need it for first time system building on the roms ASUS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model DRW-2014L1T - Retail.. nice monitor and you can get twice as much memory for less ifg you go with the duel core :) thats my 2 cents :)

Corsair 550VX
If you're not doing SLI, I remember you can go as low as 450W as long as the +12V rail is rated at 28A for the 8800GTX. I would suggest the Corsair 550VX. It's currently $89.99 and is 80 Plus Certified. If you need the extra oomph for future expansion, the Corsair 750TX is still cheaper than the Kingwin and is also 80 Plus Certified.

A few suggestions
1.) That processor is strictly worse than the E6750, meaning it is weaker for more money. The E8400 would be an even better choice: about $30 less and even faster. 2.) The DDR 800 Ballistix are $40 cheaper ($65 cheaper including rebates) and will overclock very similarly. 3.) As the above review said, that PSU is overkill. Look into the Corsair HX620, an excellent model that will support future upgrades as well. 4.) The Acer 22" wide is $20 cheaper for virtually the same thing (no pointless speakers attatched). Just a thought. 5.) Speaking of speakers, Logitech sells great 2.1 and 5.1 speakers for $31 and $55 respectively that will greatly improve sound quality. Everything else looks pretty good. You could buy an aftermarket cooler for the 8800gt (Accelero S1 is awesome); the fan can get loud on 100%, and the card still gets darn hot. Well then, good luck with your build sir :)

A couple ways to save cash
Don't bother buying the superclocked version of the EVGA video card. You can get the standard version $20.00 cheaper and overclock it yourself. They are essentially the same card just one of them is factory overclocked. Consider buying two 350 GB to 400 GB hard drives instead of the one 750 GB model and running them in a RAID 0 configuration. It will give you superior performance to have two R/W heads working instead of one. You might also wish to consider the E6750 CPU instead of the Q6600. There is only about a 3% drop in performance at most and you save about $90.00 on it. There are still some glitches with quad cores in some configs that you might want to avoid until they get them figured out. Your choices are pretty solid. My suggestions are more a matter of preference rather than any major issues. You should seriously consider the hard disk change though.

No Title
1.you going to need more than a power supply no less than a 650watts for this build 2. get a full tower case more room equals better air flow 3. if your running windows 32bit you dont need four gigs of memory 4. get better speakers

saving $
you only need about 550 watts to run the system, it will save you about $100
